Yesterday, the members of the Volunteer Fire Association of Tappan conducted hose stretch and operation evolutions as part of our drill
Hands-on drills like these allow our members to refresh their knowledge of the different hose packs and lengths we carry on each of our apparatus. Additionally, they provide our chauffeurs with valuable practice in pump panel operations in a training setting.
We used a variety of landmarks as obstacles to challenge our members, ensuring they think critically about the proper amount of hose needed to make the lay correctly.
The Volunteer Fire Association of Tappan is comprised of dedicated men and women committed to serving and protecting the residents and businesses in or near the Tappan Fire District. If you are interested in joining and are above the age of 16, please email JOIN@TAPPANFIRE.COM or visit our Washington Street Fire Station any Monday night from 7 PM to 9 PM. |
