How to Join
If you are interested in becoming a Tappan Firefighter or would like more information, please send an email to join@tappanfire.com with your name and phone number. Someone from our membership/recruitment committee will contact you.
In addition, you may visit the 123 Washington St. fire station on any Monday evening between 7:00 PM & 9:00 PM (except holidays). You must be at least 16 years of age and live or work within the Tappan Fire District.
This is your chance to truly make a difference in your community and get involved in something rewarding and meaningful.
Volunteer firefighting offers one of the only public services that directly impacts the community, where we tirelessly protect our families, neighbors, and friends.
When you enter the fire service, you enter into a family like no other. No one knows the pride, privilege and bravery that comes with being a firefighter like your fellow volunteers.
Over the last several years, it has been very difficult for many fire departments throughout New York State to recruit and retain volunteers for a variety of reasons. Like most volunteer fire departments, the Tappan Fire Department needs to bolster its emergency responder numbers, so it can provide the optimum level of protection for its residents.
