By Assistant Chief Thomas Abraham
April 29, 2019

Around 3:50 in the afternoon, Tappan F.D. was dispatched to a reported vehicle fire on the Palisades Parkway. 44-control, Rockland County Fire Dispatch, alerted our first due engine, 21-1501, that police were on the scene confirming a working car fire. The crew from 21-1501 quickly began to put a hose line into action to extinguish the blaze. Due to limited water resources on the parkway, an engine from neighboring Dept. 16 (Sparkill F.D.) was called to standby. Units operated for about 40 minutes before clearing the scene.

Units: 21-2, 21-3, 21-1501, 21-1500, 21-EQ

Mutual Aid: Dept. 16 (Sparkill F.D.) with 16-1000
