Tappan Fire Dept. members take the Plunge

Several members of Tappan Fire Dept. took the plunge in the annual Penguin Plunge in the Hudson River in Nyack on Sunday afternoon March 5th.

It was a cold 33 degrees on the banks of the Hudson River in Nyack, as members Chris Farrell, Curt Carney, Drew Gangemi, Sean Phelan, Geoffrey Dick, Tappan Ladies Aux. President Laura Carney, as well as Cassandra Carney (Curt's wife) and Julie Hudackand, and other people jumped in the cold water, which was estimated to be about 45 degrees, on this bright sunny day. Cheering on these brave members were , DJ Harrigan, Eric Werner, Rich Pugh and many friends and family members.

This years plunge was to benefit three families in Rockland County and one of the families was Tappan's own; Curt Carney for his daughter, Gabriella.
