Orangetown Highway Department Awards Members for Excellence

On Tuesday May 15th, 2018 two of members received awards from the Orangetown Highway Department at their annual awards ceremony. Ex-President George Garrecht V received a cleanup coordinator award for organizing the annual “Great Tappan Cleanup” which hosted over 100 volunteers who helped clean up our community. Asst. No Caption Large Brush Fire in Orangeburg

On Wednesday May 2nd, 2018 at 6:03pm the Tappan Fire Department responded mutual aid to Orangburg Fire Department at the scene of a large brush fire. The fire was found on Clausland Mountain in the Southwest of Nike Lane. Cleaning up Tappan

Earlier today we had a lot of help from the community with helping us clean up Tappan. We walked the streets picking up trash alongside of the roads. Today was a perfect day weather wise but also because it is Earth Day today. We want to give a quick shout out to NoCO Catering for the lunch you served us. Standby at Suffern FD

On Saturday April 14th several of our officers and firefighters went up to Suffern and spent the night while Suffern firefighters had their annual installation dinner. Orangeburg Mutual Aid

Firefighter Geoffrey Dick, February 27

On Tuesday February 27th the Tappan fire Department was requested to send an engine to the scene of a working dumpster and trailer fire. Upon arriving on scene we were notified that there were currently 3 trailers fully engulfed in flames and were ordered to stretch hand lines and assist in overhaul. Tappan Golf Kitchen Fire

Firefighter Geoffrey Dick, February 26

Early Monday morning on February 26th the Tappan fire department was called to Tappan golf for an automatic alarm. First officers on scene smelled smoke coming from the building. Orangetown fire inspector was requested to the scene. Firefighters entered the building and came upon a small fire in the kitchen. Rescue Call

Firefighter Geoffrey Dick, February 23

Early afternoon on Friday February 23rd the Tappan Fire Department was called to the masonic grounds for a worker trapped in a dumpster. Firefighters on scene were able to remove the victim who was pinned between a construction chute and the wall of the dumpster and handed him over to South Orangetown Ambulance, where he was transported to Nyack Hospital in critical condition and the scene was turned ...
