Schelin Post 1271 of Tappan, NY in partnership with the Volunteer Fire Association of Tappan, and the Tappan Reformed Church recognize our fallen veterans and active servicemen and women by hosting a Memorial Day parade through town. The parade commences at the Masonic Hall on Western Highway and concludes at the Tappan Triangle in front of the Tappan Reformed Church.

Last night March 3rd, just before 10:30pm the Tappan Fire Department was dispatched to the Tappan Reformed Church- Manse Barn for an automatic alarm. Within minutes of dispatch Chief Tom Abraham (21-1) arrived on scene and confirmed there was a working fire on the rear side of the building. 21-1500 and 21-1502 arrived on scene shortly after and immediately went to work stretching hand lines into the ... Passing of Robert "Doc" Schelin

It is with a heavy heart that the Volunteer Fire Association of Tappan announces the passing of Life Member and Past President, Robert "Doc" Schelin.

Doc was an instrumental part of the life blood Orangetown. One would be hard pressed to find someone that attended St. Thomas Aquinas College during his tenure that does not name him as their favorite professor. Doc, you will be sorely missed.
