This past weekend we participated in NY States Recruit NY both Saturday and Sunday. We joined with the Sparkill Fire Department, Orangeburg Fire Department and the Piermont Fire Department. Around 3:50 in the afternoon, Tappan F.D. was dispatched to a reported vehicle fire on the Palisades Parkway. 44-control, Rockland County Fire Dispatch, alerted our first due engine, 21-1501, that police were on the scene confirming a working car fire. On Sunday, April 14th at 3:05pm, the Tappan Fire Department was requested to respond mutual in to Central Nyack for a working fire at the Mountainview Condominium Complex. Although we were initially requested to stand by at Central Nyack Fire Department's quarters, we were told to respond directly to the scene shortly after dispatch.

It was a quiet Saturday afternoon, when our neighbors to the north in Blauvelt (Dept. 1) were alerted for a structure fire on Glynn Oval, On arrival, Chief Chondris advised they had a working house fire. As 21-1 and 21-2 arrived on scene they notified the incoming FAST team to set up by command. Orangetown Highway Department Awards Members for Excellence

On Tuesday May 15th, 2018 two of members received awards from the Orangetown Highway Department at their annual awards ceremony. Ex-President George Garrecht V received a cleanup coordinator award for organizing the annual “Great Tappan Cleanup” which hosted over 100 volunteers who helped clean up our community. Asst.
