Late Night Car Accident on Palisades Parkway

In the early hours of Sunday, May 21st, 2017, Tappan Fire Department was dispatched to a reported car fire on the Palisades Interstate Parkway. Shortly after dispatch, we were alerted, via PD, that there was a party trapped in the vehicle. Tappan Fire Dept. members take the Plunge

Several members of Tappan Fire Dept. took the plunge in the annual Penguin Plunge in the Hudson River in Nyack on Sunday afternoon March 5th.

House Fire in Palisades

On the evening of Wednesday, February 1st, Sparkill-Palisades Fire Department, along with Tappan, responded to a report of a house fire at 28 Closter Road, in Palisades. Upon arrival, our FAST team set up on the front lawn of the residence and proceeded sizing up the area. Vehicle flips on Washington Avenue

On the morning of Saturday, January 28th 2017, volunteers from Tappan were requested to respond to the corner of Washington Avenue and Liberty Road to assist in the removal of one victim from an overturned vehicle. Structure Fire in Norwood

On the evening of Wednesday, January 18th 2017, volunteers from Tappan responded Mutual Aid in to Norwood for a structure fire. Initially called for an Engine with manpower, the request was then changed for a FAST (Firefighter assist and search team) response post-dispatch. On the evening of Sunday, January 15th 2017, volunteers from Tappan responded to a two car accident in front of 98 Route 303. Upon arrival, firefighters assisted members of the South Orangetown Ambulance Corps in the removal of one victim stuck in the passenger seat of a vehicle which had ended up in a ditch. On the evening of November 5th, 2016 at approximately 17:40 hours, Tappan F.D. was dispatched to a reported car fire on the Palisades Parkway. Upon arrival Chief Werner (21-1) established command and advised there was no car fire but a 1 vehicle accident involving a deer.
